Sebastian got her off of him before grabbing her chin and forcing her to face him. “The necklace.” “What?” Jocelyn was confused. “I was talking about the necklace you’re wearing.” He repeated himself. “Give it to me.” Immediately, Jocelyn covered her chest. Why does he want my necklace? “Old man, I can give you anything you want besides this necklace.” She grinned cheekily while Sebastian frowned. Jocelyn was targeted because of this button, and keeping it with her would surely be a time bomb, so he must get the button back no matter what. Still, explaining it to Jocelyn was a problem. After holding the necklace and pondering for a moment, Jocelyn came to a realization. “You know who’s the owner of this button, don’t you?” She got excited. “Can you tell me who is it? I’ll give the button to you once you tell me about his identity.” She figured that the man appeared mysteriously in the bar every time, so it must be important to keep his identity a secret. The reason why Sebastian wants the button is surely because he is afraid of others finding out about that man. Sebastian was speechless. He didn’t want to waste more time explaining to her, so he reached out to snatch the necklace while Jocelyn covered her chest and pushed his hand away. However, as her leg was still injured, she staggered slightly and fell to the ground. “Be careful!” Sebastian dashed forward and grabbed her by her waist. Nevertheless, Jocelyn would rather fall to the ground than give him the necklace as she shot him a pleading look. Staring at her pitiful expression, Sebastian sighed before he turned around and left. “Old man!” she cried out crisply, upon which Sebastian stopped. “Carry me, old man.” “You—” You shouldn’t push it. Before he could continue what he wanted to say, he saw Jocelyn limping as she stood under the dimmed lights with a pale face. Suddenly, Sebastian felt his heart softening because he was the reason behind her suffering today. It wasn’t Jocelyn’s fault for picking up the button that fell off his shirt; his negligence was to be blamed. This also reminded him that he should be careful and not make any careless mistakes anymore. When Sebastian snapped back from his trance, he squatted down. Then, Jocelyn smiled before she hooked her pale arms around him. The wind was slightly warm at night as the moon hid behind the clouds. Jocelyn felt secure as she lay on Sebastian’s wide and warm back. Soon, she dozed off from fatigue. The moonlight illuminated her eyelashes, and Sebastian could hear her soft snores when he turned his head sideways. The next day in Sundale University, Jocelyn had her head propped on her hand while she sat next to the window and stared at a couple who was flirting on a bench below. Suddenly, she recalled how Sebastian protected her yesterday. He did it so effortlessly. “I can’t wait to see that old man soon! Since he rescued me, I must do something to express my gratitude as well.” Then, she grabbed her bag and stood up before heading out of her classroom. “What old man? Jocelyn McBride, who did you seduce again?” Molly, who was walking past Jocelyn’s seat, raised her voice and asked when she overheard her. This Jocelyn girl is such a sl*t. I can’t believe she seduced another man again. However, Jocelyn wasn’t angry. “Hey, Molly, since you’re really close with Joanne, please help me to tell her that I’m going to visit my brother-in-law, also known as her fiancé, and send him some chicken soup that is brewed with love.” Jocelyn figured that when Joanne found out about this, her facial expression would surely be very interesting. She couldn’t wait to see that. “Jocelyn, you’re so shameless! Why do you want to snatch everything that Joanne has away from her?! Tsk, do you really think that Sebastian is someone that you can seduce easily? They’re getting married soon! You have no chances left!” Molly stomped her feet on the ground in anger. On the other hand, Jocelyn, who went to Davis Enterprise with a thermo flask full of chicken soup, was stopped at the lobby’s front desk. “I’m sorry, Miss. You can’t enter without an appointment.” It was obvious that the person at the front desk thought that Jocelyn was one of the many women who had ill intentions toward Sebastian, so she blocked her forcefully. “Miss,” Jocelyn called out sweetly before showing her the thermo flask that she was holding. “I’m close to that old man, and I’m here to send him some chicken soup.” “That’s why you can’t enter.” Although she looks naive, I’m sure she’s just like those girls who’s trying to get into President Davis’ bed! The woman at the front desk gave Jocelyn a disdainful look. “Are you seriously trying to get into President Davis’ bed with just a flask of chicken soup? Just leave and stop holding me up from doing my job. Do you even know how many women like you I have to deal with every day?” The woman at the front desk toyed with her freshly painted nails as she spoke. Sebastian had rejected many socialites’ approach in the past, so she didn’t even bother to spare the little girl in front of her any second glances. Right then, Jocelyn tilted her head as her brain started churning. “Hey, you might not know this, but my last name is McBride,” Jocelyn remarked. McBride? The woman at the front desk felt like she had heard this name somewhere as the person next to her nudged her arm. “I heard that President Davis’ fiancée’s last name was McBride, and I saw her from afar once. She does resemble this girl, so she could be …” “Joanne McBride.” Jocelyn looked upset. “Can you let me go now? I can’t believe you can’t even recognize your president’s future wife. After I get married to Sebastian, you’ll be the first person I’ll fire!” Immediately, the woman at the front desk turned pale as she took Jocelyn to the elevator anxiously while the latter looked as arrogant as a peacock. If Joanne found out how I used her name to pull this off, she would surely be pissed off! Haha! Hence, she managed to get to the president's office without any obstacles. “Hey, old man! We meet again! It's been a night since I last saw you. Did you miss me?” Pushing open the door to the office, Jocelyn grinned widely as she noticed Sebastian sitting behind his office table. “I did not.” Sebastian quickly closed the laptop in front of him and ended his online meeting session. “Jocelyn, how did you manage to get up here?” How did she get in? Are the receptionists and the security guards blind? “I got up using the elevator,” Jocelyn answered seriously. “Climbing up the stairs would be too tiring, and my legs would hurt.” She wasn't bothered by Sebastian’s cold attitude. She then proceeded to pour the chicken soup into a bowl cautiously, as if it was something precious, before bringing it toward him. “Thanks for rescuing me yesterday. Since I'm a grateful person, I woke up early today to brew you this chicken soup and came here specially to deliver it to you! Here—it's still hot! You should try it while it's still hot!” “You made this yourself?” Sebastian narrowed his eyes and asked. “Of course! I put in a lot of effort into this, so you must try it, old man. Although this is my first time brewing soup and it might taste bad…” “Is that so? Are you sure that Phoenix Dynasty’s takeout would taste bad?” Sebastian leaned back onto his leather chair before giving Jocelyn a bored look. Right then, Jocelyn was taken aback. Is this guy a dog? How can he tell just by smelling it? “Ahem. Well, I don't think you should look a gift horse in the mouth, old man. Even if I didn't brew this myself, I still brought it over myself for you.” She let out an awkward laugh. “Throw it away.” “Sure.” Then, Jocelyn threw the chicken soup into the rubbish bin obediently before walking toward Sebastian. However, he stopped her from getting closer to him. “You should be in class at this time. Go back now.” Sebastian was merciless. Since this plan failed, it looks like I need to go with another plan now. Suddenly, Jocelyn kneeled down and crawled under Sebastian’s desk. Then, her head popped up between his legs while she smiled cheekily. “You…” Sebastian really didn't know what to do with her. At that moment, Jocelyn giggled and started attempting to remove his belt. “Stop messing around!” Sebastian grabbed her hands while she clung onto his arm and went into his embrace, refusing to stop. Nevertheless, he finally managed to get away by pressing down on her waist before he retreated a distance away from her with a dark expression. “Jocelyn, where is your necklace?” Right then, Jocelyn pulled on her shirt’s collar, revealing her pale skin as well as the necklace that was hidden under the collar. When Sebastian reached out to grab it, she removed her outerwear and arched her chest up. “Looks like you're the proactive kind, old man.” Immediately, his face darkened as he lifted her up and placed her on his desk before grabbing both her slender arms and holding them over her head. At the same time, Jocelyn took the opportunity to cross her legs around his waist. “This necklace,” Sebastian said as he held her arms in place with one hand while grabbing the necklace on her chest with another. “I want it.” Initially, he had already given up on getting the necklace back the night before, but she had actually presented herself here willingly today. Right then, the door to the office was pushed open with a loud creak. “President Davis, the meeting later—” When Sebastian’s assistant entered, Sebastian quickly pulled Jocelyn into his embrace and pushed her head into his chest to protect her exposed body against his assistant’s view before his angry voice rang out. “Close your eyes and get out!”
