Colter was kept away by some errand, leaving just Augustus and myself at home. The responsibility of caring for this indisposed person, therefore, fell squarely upon the latter. It was impossible to tell how good he was at caring for people before. One moment, he was taking my temperature and at another, he was bringing up water and medicine. I enjoyed his hospitality in a state of nerves, only wishing for a swift recovery so that Augustus may be spared from such indignity.
