As I served soup, Grandpa continued muttering under his breath. I can't recall the exact words, but I knew he was scolding me. However, I didn't take it personally. After spending a lot of time with Grandpa, I realized that he didn't mean any harm. He just liked to talk tough. This was completely different from Mr. Adler, who was silent but always managed to hit the nail on the head with just one sentence.
If Grandpa realized that his words hadn't convinced me and had simply gone in one ear and out the other, he would probably be even more furious.
