Christopher felt a wave of disgust wash over him as he stared at the phone and abruptly hung up, feeling restless. It was not Joseph's attitude that bothered him but rather his concern for Fanny's well-being. After a few moments of frustration, he decided to assist in locating Fanny. However, being far away in Riverdon, with no familiar or trustworthy people around in Northland, he found himself alone without anyone to turn to find Fanny.
He ran his hand through his hair while sitting in his hotel room. Suddenly, a spark of inspiration struck him. The thought of Jane crossed his mind, but he quickly dismissed it. Despite racking his brain, he could not think of anyone else besides her.
