Chapter 8
We entered as I closed the door and he cursed under his breath.
"Will you stop talking to my Father like this?" I asked angrily, irked by his behavior.
"No, I won't." He replied, putting his hand in his pocket, walking to me.
"Why are you even doing this, Nathaniel?"
My voice lowered when he was in the vicinity, exploring my space as his.
"I should ask you the same as well, that man sold you to me in exchange for power if you remember." He hissed, slamming his hand on either side of me.
"Don't you feel disgusted to be with him?" He asked, trapping me between his muscular body and malicious eyes, hovering over my petite form.
"It was a mutual deal." I whispered, breaths converting into a rapid pant under the ambience.
"And you foolishly signed the contract without reading it once on your Father's orders." He growled.
It was not Father. It was my desire.
'I would have signed it a million times without thinking twice.'
"You weren't a part of it." He whispered, affixed his face lethally close to mine.
"What's the point of it now?" I asked, turning my head away, hoping to impede his trail of questions but he held my jaw, forcing me to meet his eyes.
"I told you not to break eye contact with me, didn't I?" He warned, fingers trailing to my hairs.
"What is your problem, Nathaniel? Why are you doing this?" I asked breathlessly, pressing my freezing palm against the wall to cope with his dominance, quivering up slightly.
"My problem is that man who has brainwashed you and I am warning you Zariah, If I saw you alone with him even for a second," He paused.
Losing his breath, laden my heartbeats into an appall sewing my tongue when his lips grazed my skin, speaking in a growl.
"You will 'never' be able to see them again."
My eyes widened by this open threat, gasping at his absurd statement.
"You can't do this, he is my father! I am not a possession you will grasp!" I whisper-yelled.
This man was unbelievable, he planned to cut all my roots from Father.
Did he know? But how could he?
"You know what, Zariah?"
He breathed out, yanking my body to his, connecting to feel the heat emerging from his form burning into my feral breaths.
"I don't give a single fuck."
Letting out a low menacing yet suppressed laugh, he brushed his face on my side, moving gradually upon mine.
"You shall do what 'I' want from now on."
Enunciating, his fingers gripped my hairs, I gasped when he forced my lip to almost connect his.
"Because you wouldn't be able to bear it if I tamed you my way."
Implanting a horrible warning on my very soul, he let go of me.
"You shiver by mere words. Trust me, you are not prepared for my actions." He threatened openly, seriously.
Leaving me immobilized in the place, shaking under the weight of his words and pressure of which trepidation I got myself into.
He went to the bathroom after taking off his waistcoat.
"Dammit!" I cursed, slamming my fist on the wall in fury of how smoothly I slipped through his fingers to mold into his desirable structure.
"Fucking asshole." I hissed in a low tone, hating how my emotions overwhelm me.
But then again. He was my only emotion after all.
Taking a deep breath to regain my senses, I knocked on his door and informed.
"I am with Al in her room."
Voice still soft and I knew he would go and see Father to see if I was lying. He hummed as I left for her room.
When I walked to her room the countenance on my face gradually turned from an innocent timid one to a tempting devilish one.
Licking my upper lips and entering her room. Sighing deeply after the constant acting of an obedient wife.
"Well, well, who's here?" Alessandra smirked, lighting me a cigarette.
"Thanks." I smirked, taking a long inhale from it, taking a seat.
"So... how's hubby?" She teased me.
"Damn, he is dominant, he just wants anything according to his desire." I muttered, frowning to even think about it.
"What can you do, you chose it after all. You were dying to be his submissive little wifey." She shrugged, chuckling a little to hit my nerves.
"He promised after all."
I let out a low laugh as it was my idea to let me in this marriage in the first place or else Father intended to send Al.
How could I let Alessandra take the place I dreamt to achieve?
"You know he doesn't remember it. Not the promise he made nor you."
Alessandra spoke the harsh reality but I won't give up soon. He will remember. He has to.
"So what? I don't care at this point anymore. I have him. What else do I want now?" I lied smoothly, shrugging my shoulders.
"Getting what you hanker for, you took it to a literal level, Zariah." Al snickered.
"Ah, not Zariah. It's Zari."
My smirk grew wider, leaning back, relaxing, wallowing in my smoke.
"And yeah girl, do lock the door, I don't want Nathaniel to walk upon us and see me smoking." I motioned her to do it.
"My, scared of him? Never feared cancer once but a man?" She giggled, locking the door. I sighed, waving my hand to shrug it off.
"I swear if he hadn't caught my eye." I mumbled, closing my eyes.
"But what are you going to do now? You were waiting for someone who cannot return." She asked, intrigued to know. But, her words might be playful to her. They sting me.
"Either your infatuation for Nathaniel or your responsibility as the next leader. Which path are you going to take? Nathaniel or us?" She asked seriously.
I remained silent for a few seconds knowing things didn't go the way I expected them to; Nathaniel turns dire when it comes to me.
"If you had ask me before, I would definitely say; Fuck everything, I want to be the mother of his kids, be his forever but now circumstances have changed." I sighed, blowing my cigarette in the ashtray, looking up at her with a dominant look.
"What do you mean?" She asked, perplexed by my reaction.
"I think I need time to reconsider whether this obsession is for him or for absolute power."
