Chapter 5 This Card Has a Lot of Money on It

Fiona's POV: Thomas gave me a grin, clearly trying to flatter me. "Queen, I've run into a problem with the stock again! The Z-value's been dropping steadily, and it's almost below two. Should I sell now?" Really? Is he asking me this now? Is he testing my trust? Is he trying to gauge my abilities? I couldn't help but let out a quiet, amused laugh inside. So, Thomas wasn't as clueless as I thought. My foster father, Victor, once told me that to make a werewolf fully submit to you, relying on their rank alone wouldn't be enough. The real trick was to display your strength at the right moment, making them both respect and fear you. It was time to show him what I could do. I placed the credit card down and focused on his laptop. My voice was firm as I issued my command. "Don't sell. Keep buying." "But ... " Thomas hesitated. "Just do it," I ordered. Thomas complied. Ten minutes later, the market began to rise. "Queen, it's going up!" "Keep pushing. Buy more within a 5-point range, and when it goes higher, sell everything." The wait felt agonizingly slow, but Thomas didn't dare let up, his fingers lightly sweating as they hovered over the keyboard. "It's going up again!" "Sell," I said decisively, my voice leaving no room for doubt. After the trade, Thomas's phone rang. "Your account has been credited with 30 million." Making money was a piece of cake! "I guess you're officially our Queen now!" Thomas exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement as he gave me a series of enthusiastic thumbs-ups. His eyes shone with admiration. "Queen, how did you do it?" I glanced at him, answering slowly, "No tricks. Just intuition. You can't learn it." It was one of the gifts my wolf soul had given me—information perception. My wolf could sense the massive flow of data across the web, picking out exactly what I need and guiding me to make decisions based on the current situation. But I rarely used it. It was the most mentally draining gift I have. ... Half an hour later, Thomas took me to my new place. "Queen, this is the best, most luxurious apartment in the city center. It's perfect for you. But it's a two-apartment building, so you'll have a neighbor across the hall." He knew I preferred peace and quiet, so he quickly added, "But I've been keeping an eye on them, and they're rarely home. I've never even seen them." The apartment faced south had great natural lighting and it was located in a peaceful neighborhood despite being in the heart of the city. The property management and landscaping were exceptional. It was hard to find anything wrong with it. I nodded. "Good work." "Hehe, it's nothing. You're my Queen, after all," Thomas said with a grin, looking like a proud puppy. "While you're at it, could you take withdraw all the money from the card for me?" I tossed him the bank card. "As you wish, my Queen!" Thomas eagerly ran off to get the money. I sank into the sofa, feeling an unexpected sense of excitement. Even though my other foster father, Mike, was the wealthiest werewolf in the world, money had always just been a number to me. On Exile Island, we didn't use the werewolf world's currency. Our powerful wolf souls were all we needed. So, I had never actually seen real money before. I was curious. Not long after, Thomas called me. "Queen, are you sure you want to take all of it out?" "Yes. What's the issue?" His voice sounded uncertain. "This card has a lot of money on it ... " "A lot? How much?" "I've emptied out all the money from the 24-hour ATM, and that's just the small change. If you want more, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to go to the bank." Oh? So how much was that? "Bring me what you have!" I commanded. Soon, Thomas returned. He set a huge bag on the ground, and when he opened it, cash spilled out like water. Wow! My eyes lit up as I grabbed a handful of cash and breathed it in. "Oh, the smell of money!" "You really saved that guy, huh? He's loaded!" Thomas said in awe. He glanced at me and quickly added, "But none of it compares to how much you have! Your foster father is the richest man in the world!" Heh. Thomas didn't know that my foster fathers didn't give me any money except for a brand new phone when I left the island. Based on the card's balance, before I got this cash, I was a broke loser. But now ... I hugged the pile of cash and ran my hands through it. This would be my starting fund to get things moving in the Northern Continent! Thomas eagerly helped me store the cash in a safe, then pulled out a tablet, opening it and handing it to me. "Queen, I've brought you the files on the five potential partners you wanted me to check out." Ha! It seemed like everything I'd been waiting for was finally falling into place.
