Ning Jian sounded impatient, frightening Hu Tu. She noticed that he wasn’t actually willing to look at her. “It’s nothing.” She pouted her mouth while feeling dejected as she shook her head. She was afraid of his anger. She turned to leave for her room, but her stomach grumbled with such impeccable timing when she literally just took two steps away.
The noise it made sounded distinct within the quiet space, which caused her to hang her head even lower. Ning Jian cast her a glance. “Did you not have dinner?”
