Chapter 14 Grateful
Only extraordinary people deserved that kind of card.
Osmond used to be Nine-Star Commander in the northwest and commanded millions of soldiers.
Hence, he had the right to own one.
After all, the title of Nine-Star Commander was an extremely prestigious one.
Money was like waste paper to him.
As for power, he had already reached the pinnacle of it.
“However, that's in the past now.” Osmond slowly raised his head and muttered while staring at the ceiling.
His mind flashbacked to the time when millions of soldiers would push across even the harshest environment with him when he gave the order.
Back then, he had all the money and power he could ever want.
Yet, at the current moment, he was a nobody living in seclusion in a small town, deserted by everyone.
Even his legs had abandoned him, making him a cripple.
“However, this isn't enough to beat me down. After all, I'm Osmond Lestrange.” Osmond shifted his line of sight away, picked up silver needles, and began performing acupuncture on himself.
Since both of his legs were crippled, he had to speed up the treatment.
He didn't dare to give Paul a call willy-nilly because the situation was still uncertain.
Although he was confident that the next time Paul called him, everything would change by then.
The next day, Abraham and Dorian rushed over to Terence's location early in the morning.
Dorian was worried about Terence's condition while Abraham was waiting to laugh at Dorian and Osmond like they were jokes.
Yesterday, not only did Terence think very highly of Osmond, but Osmond was also praised as a divine physician by Samuel.
If Terence's condition weren't treated after all that praise, it would be very ironic.
Staring at Terence, Dorian asked with anticipation, “How are you feeling, Grandpa?”
“I slept very soundly last night! Mr. Lestrange truly is a divine physician!” Terence couldn't help but praise Osmond while looking very excited.
Usually, his body temperature would slowly rise in the afternoon before it went down when evening rolled around.
Then, at ten during the night, his entire body would start to experience extreme pain.
It was as though ten thousand ants were biting him.
To say it was an agonizing experience for Terence would be an understatement.
However, after Osmond treated him last night, he noticed his body temperature remained stable when he monitored his temperature.
In fact, at ten during the night, the usual pain that had been tormenting him didn't appear at all.
For the first time in ten years, Terence finally had a good night's sleep.
The gratitude he felt toward Osmond at the moment came from the bottom of his heart.
Obviously, Dorian was happy for the old man.
Abraham, who had been waiting to laugh at Dorian, scurried away.
“Mr. Chaucer said Mr. Lestrange is a divine physician. It seems like he wasn't lying at all!” Dorian exclaimed.
“This is a favor that the Linnell family must repay Mr. Lestrange!” Terence promptly stood up and said, “Is there anything Mr. Lestrange wants?”
Upon shaking his head, Dorian replied, “Mr. Lestrange is eccentric. He doesn't want anything and only asked us to help out the Quantrill family a little.”
With a faint nod, Terence said, “Those who are capable tend to be eccentric. However, even if Mr. Lestrange said he doesn't want anything, we can't just not give him anything.”
Dorian agreed, “I agree, but I don't know what's appropriate to give him as a gift. How about money?”
“No!” Terence shook his hands. “Money isn't appropriate. Hmm, since Mr. Lestrange's legs are crippled, it must be inconvenient for him to move around. I think you should pick a car and give it to him so he'll have transport.”
Dorian's eyes glimmered. That's right! I bet transport is what Osmond needs the most right now. This will be enough to show him how sincere we are.
“All right! I'll do that right away.” He promptly stood up and was ready to leave.
“Remember, you need to pick a good car!” Terence reminded.
With a confident nod, Dorian replied, “I understand!”
During the afternoon, Osmond was about to withdraw some money with his bank card.
At that moment, he was penniless, so he needed some money.
Otherwise, he would not even have the money to pay for the taxi fare.
Thus, all Osmond could do was head to the nearest bank in his wheelchair.
He recalled that the bank wasn't that far away from Constance's workplace.
It was her request to work somewhere near her home so she could take care of Osmond more easily.
After half an hour of pushing his wheelchair, he finally arrived at the bank.
Bang! Bang!
Suddenly, he heard loud sounds.
It was as though someone was putting on fireworks.
With slightly furrowed eyebrows, Osmond turned in the direction of the sounds.
It was then he saw many people surrounding Constance's workplace.
Men and women were standing around watching something.
There were at least more than a hundred people there, and many of them were holding their cameras and taking pictures.
A lot of people were also holding confetti poppers in their hands. Confetti decorated the sky when they popped them.
There was a young man wearing a premium white suit in the crowd. He was holding a large bouquet of roses with a smile.
The young man was already pretty handsome. His white suit only further accentuated his noble quality.
In fact, he looked like a prince charming.
Osmond frowned slightly as he uttered icily, “Kieran!”
The young man who looked like a prince charming was the person who refused to give up on chasing after Constance's love, Kieran Zeller.
