Julian glanced at Alexander and said, “Sit down and wait.” Then Alexander sat down. Tony was annoyed and glared at Julian. Then Tony snorted and sat down. Alexander’s phone rang again. It was from the subordinate in Horington. Julian pressed the button and put it on speaker. The subordinate reported, “Mr. Parks, Bethany Langdon said that she used barium to protect her flowers against bees in the garden.” Julian glanced at Abigail and said into the phone, “Oh, protect her flowers against bees? Isn’t she afraid of poisoning the plants?” Abigail looked away to avoid Julian’s gaze. She was afraid that she would look nervous. Thus, Abigail changed her mind and looked at Julian.
