Chapter 22

My heart stopped in my chest as I stared at his card. No, it wasn't possible. I was only in a dream, a very terrible nightmare. As Andrei turned away, I struggled to wake up from this bad dream. I wanted to come back to reality and see myself back on my bed. I wanted to believe I was stuck in a terrible dream. I looked down at my overturned card on the table. How could my luck run out so quickly?
