The further Rafael went into trying to piece it all together, the more of a blur the picture was, racing in his mind. No end had ever been seen to this. A way to the truth had to be there without losing everything in the process. First, though, he had to meet with Gabriel. That other had inquired into; perhaps there would be more light upon the matter, perhaps it would plunge him yet farther into darkness of doubt.
