Selena was waiting for her in front of the glass window, only to be taken aback by Megan’s tortured look when the latter showed up. Her face lacked its former glow, as if being shrouded in a layer of dark mist. There were also a few burn marks on her left cheek, while her wary eyes darted beneath the fringes of her cropped hair. Her appearance was a stark contrast to back when she was still the daughter-in-law of the Lake Family, which made apparent to Selena that life in prison had taken a toll on her.
