Genevieve stood at the center of the glass conference room, frozen. The hum of low voices surrounded her like a swarm of bees, muffled but venomous. The CEO’s voice rang cold and decisive over the speaker system. “Effective immediately, Genevieve Adair is terminated. Her access to company files has been revoked. Legal is already in motion.” Her blood ran ice-cold. The screen behind her displayed falsified documents, emails she never wrote, transactions she never authorized.
