“How is he doctor?” I hear my mate’s soft voice as I struggle to open my eyes, my body lying on something soft and luxurious. My eyes slowly flutter open. My mate is standing in front of me, speaking to a doctor with a clipboard, unaware that I have woken. She looks tired, I thought to myself slightly upset with myself, and more than a little exhausted. There are dark circles beneath her eyes, her gorgeous hair is dishevelled and mussed and she’s wearing only a robe that is pulled tightly around her. Had she spent the entire night watching over me?
