Chapter 26

“Charisma.” It feels as though my vocal cords are squeezing painfully as I speak. I can feel my forehead covered in sweat. I’m looking up at my mate and all I can think about is how much she wants to hear my voice; to hear the sound of her name come from my lips and it’s like my heart is torn in two. I want to experience the same thing, to be able to speak, to tell her my feelings and finally express the love I have for her, without feeling as though I am a burden or inconvenience. When it happens, I’m in a state of disbelief, even as my mate looks as though all her Christmas’s have come at once.
