Chapter 13

Hazel's expression was one of annoyance as she answered the call, her voice curt. "What do you want?" she asked, her tone indicating that she wasn't interested in talking. Nathaniel's voice was on the other end of the call, and he seemed to be savoring the moment. "Let's see," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. Hazel's parents were sitting next to her, and her mother whispered, "What is it? Who is that?" Her expression was one of concern, and she seemed to be trying to get a glimpse of the caller. Hazel's expression didn't change, but she seemed to be getting increasingly agitated. "I don't want to see you," she said, her voice firm, as she wanted to end the call.
