The wind howled as the party ascended the final ridge. Jagged cliffs rose like teeth around them, and snow swirled in thick gusts, blinding and relentless. But Selene walked forward with unwavering steps, her cloak whipping behind her like wings of shadow and flame.
Kael stayed close, his hand never far from the hilt of his blade, eyes scanning the cliffs for movement. Thorne chanted softly under his breath, fingers glowing as he reinforced protective wards that flickered like invisible shields around the group. Myra and Dorian brought up the rear, silent and tense, their eyes hardened by too many battles and too little rest.
