The following week passed without me turning on my phone even once. Since I was staying at Hansel’s house, every morning started with a run with the siblings—Hansel and Sandra. We would move on to split kicking, and then I’d toss concrete dumbbells while the other two practiced martial arts.
I hadn’t expected myself to pull through the entire week, but with Sandra holding her wooden club at all times, I forced myself to endure the training. After all, tossing the chunky concrete dumbbells only felt physically exhausting, but if I were to be struck on the shins by her wooden club, I would have to suffer an excruciating pain; it was enough to drive me insane, but it did not injure me.
