Chapter 4 Four
"How can dad think to do this to me? This is very unfair," Lila said, pacing the entire floor of her room. The diner finished earlier than they would expect because of the awfulness. The men still stayed downstairs in the living room to still watch golf; Eleanor, Carrie, and Lucy went to the balcony. You have tea even though it was scorching hot that night.
Elizabeth, Victoria. Amelia and Sophia were next in her oom. If this was last week Sunday, they would have gosiped till midnight, and then everyone would go back home in preparation for the next day, but since the situation was different, Lila seemed to be the one in need at that time.
"Why did you try to drag me into this?" Amelai asked lazily as she dropped to the bed, her head on Elizabeth's laps. Elizabeth ran her hand through her hair gently, which made her even more sleepy.
"Because none of you have thought of trying to help me out. You all just sat there like some statue watching him ask me about Marru Levi," Lila countered back.
"What did you want us to say? We do not want you to marry him again, but we don't want to be associated with the family in any way." Victoria said.
"So I should be associating with him instead? If hsi faily ecaomes my in lawas, they are automatically attached to you all," Lila responded with her hand in their faces as she moved it from side to side. "If I were the one, I would have tried my best to stick for you instead of standing there and just watching them act like I do to fully understand what was going on.
"But Lial..."
"But nothing," she cut Sophai off before she could say anything. She turned to the door and stormed off even though this was her room, and she had been supposed to stay back while they all left, but she could not stand being in the same room with them.
THE NEXT MORNING
BRIDAL SHOP
When her father had told her that she was meeting with Levi the next day, she had not expected that he would agree to be in the same room with her, and even more so, she did not understand why they were already in a bridal shop at that time.
"You look quite interesting; is it because you are a witch?" Levi asked and douvled over, lauging with his hands to his legs.
"Acting like a child must be your secret," she said.
"And yet here you are, ready and behging to get married to me," he said. He wanted to have the upper hand.
"Begging?" She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "I guess delusional must be inherited."
"Are you trying to take a jab at all of my fathers and grandparents?"
"If the shoes fit, then they should all wear it with pride." She did not know what she was doing, but she was doing it. She was trying to be respectful of him because they were supposed to be a couple, and there was never any couple who acted the way they did. "I mean, you've only thought that they wanted a project with Skylien because our family was doing it; I guess you can say that we greatly influence your decisions." Seh knew that he was not going to be a fan of her mini speech, but she said it anyway.
"Oh, please, just because you thought of an idea first doesn't mean that..." He trailed off because he realized that he was only shooting himself in the foot by saying what he had thought was a great comeback.
"Yeah, right, trying to shoot yourself in the foot," she snickered and crossed her leg over her body. Even though it was a contract between families and both families were not on good terms, they were still going to try and make the wedding one to remember for the rest of the year. They always talked about everything, even the wedding ceremonies. So they were not in for that, but they were still in to make it as glamorous as it could get.
"I am sorry if I kept you waiting for too long; I was attending to another client," the blonde hair girl said as she sat down before both of them. She could not control the shock on her face. The entire city was aware of the feud between the Carrington's and the Beaumont's. It was almost like they had never tried to hide it from the public. In fact, each family had fans who supported them through out their lives. It was like a sport competition between two teams.
"The feud is over," Lila said, tilting her head. Her father had told her that they must make it believeable that the feud had ended because that was the only way that they could get Skyline to acknowledge their efforts. "And that is the reason we are getting married," she added with a smile on her face. She knew the situation was not convincing, but that was the best she could help herself with.
"We are marrying for love; who says Enemeis cannot love each other?" Levi chimed in an excalim that was not neccessary.
"Okay! Let us get right into it," the girl said. She was trying her best to stay out of his business; after all, she was there to work and to talk about their lives.
"Let us talk about what you did then."
