Chapter 7 : You Little Brat
Yan Mian's expression froze for a moment, forgetting that the iceberg was still present.
She quickly adjusted her emotions, regained her indifference, and stood up.
"Mr. Bo, if there's nothing else, I'll leave."
Bo Jingyan pursed his thin lips, his eyes filled with a cold light.
"Alright."
She quickly left the Bo family.
Bo Jingyan remained seated in his original position, rubbing the calluses on his fingertips. He took out his phone and quickly called Shen Feng.
"Investigate Yan Mian, gather all the information."
"Yes, sir!"
...
Yan Mian didn't return to the hospital. She would officially start her work the next day.
After returning home, Dou Bao was taking a nap.
She bid farewell to the nanny and took out her laptop to investigate the recent situation of the Yan family.
Through her investigation, she learned that four years ago, Yan Feifei was pregnant with Bo Jingyan's child, who turned out to be Chenchen.
This news shocked her to some extent, and the image of Chenchen's adorable face flashed through her mind.
Such a cute little child, turned out to be Yan Feifei's child.
She felt a bit annoyed and closed her laptop with a snap.
At this moment, her phone made a sound, indicating a friend request on WeChat.
She checked the information and saw it was from Chenchen.
She had left her contact information with Shen Feng, so she guessed that Chenchen must have asked Shen Feng for it.
She accepted the request, and Chenchen quickly sent a message, "Are you busy?"
Yan Mian's fingers twitched slightly, and she hesitated before replying.
"Not busy."
She sighed softly. After all, the child was innocent, and she couldn't treat Chenchen with a biased perspective.
Chenchen: "Which outfit looks better? I'm about to go to kindergarten."
Today was not a day off, and Chenchen had taken the morning off to experience something, but he had to go to school in the afternoon.
Yan Mian focused her gaze and saw a set of blue child-sized suits and a set of gray ones.
She tapped the screen, "The blue one looks better."
The gray one was too cold, and she thought Chenchen should be more cheerful and sunny.
Chenchen sent her an eye-rolling emoji and added a sentence.
"Poor taste."
"..."
Chenchen looked at the ellipsis on the screen and clicked his tongue.
His gaze shifted to the two suits on the hanger. After contemplating for a few seconds, he decided to take the blue one.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Yan Mian was about to put away her phone when two soft little arms wrapped around her neck.
"Mummy, what are you doing?" Dou Bao's voice came from her ear.
Yan Mian turned around and saw the little one staring at her phone screen.
"Mummy is chatting with a little friend."
"Which little friend?"
Dou Bao circled around Yan Mian and naturally nestled into her embrace.
His pale face was overly transparent, and his thin body had become even more fragile due to illness.
Yan Mian embraced his shoulders, afraid of breaking this fragile porcelain doll.
"You don't know him. He's a very cute child."
The little one pointed at Chenchen's profile picture and quickly glanced at it.
"Do little kids use this kind of profile picture?" He murmured, gripping Mummy's clothes, exerting some force.
His eyes flickered, making it hard to guess his emotions.
Yan Mian was taken aback. Chenchen's profile picture was indeed too mature.
She smiled faintly, "I'm not sure either. I'll go wash an apple for you. Wait for me, my good boy."
"Okay, Mummy!"
Dou Bao didn't refuse and waited until Yan Mian went to the kitchen.
Then he dared to cover his mouth and coughed lightly. The weak morning sunlight highlighted his weakness and frailty. He quickly took a big sip of warm water.
Despite feeling unwell, he took out his small phone and quickly entered the WeChat ID he had just noted down.
The other party accepted immediately, and Dou Bao searched for the person's information, but unfortunately, there was nothing in their Moments.
He decided to send a message, "Who are you? How did you add my Mummy on WeChat?"
Mummy had just returned to the country, and she already had a new friend? Was this person up to no good?
Regardless, any opposite sex had to pass his test first!
"Your Mummy? Yan Mian?" Chenchen replied.
Dou Bao's profile picture was Yan Mian's personal photo, and it was a bit inconvenient for him to tap the screen with his small fingers, so he pressed the voice message button.
"Yes, are you a little kid?"
He suspected that the other person might be a perverted man who was targeting his Mummy, maybe even using a child as bait.
The other person quickly sent a voice message as well.
"I'm not a little kid, you little brat."
At the end of the message, Chenchen's voice was clearly filled with anger.
Just the thought of a little child being with Yan Mian made him feel uncomfortable!
