Chapter 13 Are You a Killer?
"D*mn it. It's not fair!"
When Austin saw the price she "ed, he knew that the snobby realtor would stand by her and he would have no chance.
The girl gave him a cold look. "If you're not satisfied, you can offer a higher price."
Austin was furious about it.
If he had two million with him, he wouldn't be humiliated like this.
But soon the girl asked, "Can you cook?"
"Yes, I'm good at cooking." During the years of taking care of Eliza, Austin learned how to cook. His cooking skill was as good as a chef's.
The girl asked again, "Do you know how to do laundry and clean the house?"
Austin became alert. "What do you want? You want me to be your nanny?"
"You can understand it that way." The girl looked at him coldly.
"There are four rooms in this house. It's a waste to be empty anyway. If you are willing to help me cook and clean every day, I can let you live in one room for free."
"What? You want me to do the laundry and cook for you?" Austin asked in disbelief, "Do you think I'm the one who will give in for a room?"
The girl gave him a serious look and replied seriously, "I think you are."
"You..." Austin wanted to vent his anger, but his rationality soon overcame his impulse.
"Alright. You win."
"If you pay the rent, I'll cook, do the laundry, and clean the house for you, okay?"
There was a cold smile on the girl's face. She said, "Great. You are a smart guy. If you dare to disobey my order, your life will be miserable."
The cold smile that made people feel chills was not fake. It seemed she had experienced a lot of life-or-death moments.
The realtor glanced at Austin with her eyes full of contempt.
"He is pathetic. How could a man be a nanny for a young girl? That's a kind of humiliation for men."
Austin could see the contempt in her eyes. But given the situation, he could only give in temporarily.
He felt embarrassed to borrow money from Justina.
As for his younger sister Maggie, it was better not to bother her.
When signing the house rental contract, Austin finally saw her signature.
It was Ashley Hudson.
After coming out of the agency, Ashley threw a key to Austin and her luggage.
Austin followed her at her heels and said, "You look like a student. Why do you want to rent a house?"
"Why are you so rich? Are you from a wealthy family?"
Ashley paused, almost colliding with Austin.
She asked coldly, "Did you just get divorced?"
Austin's heart skipped a beat. He asked, "How do you know? Who sent you here?"
What he was most afraid of was that his stepmother would send someone to hunt him down. By that time, his life won't be peaceful.
"I wasn't sent by anyone. I guessed it myself." Ashley said coldly.
"When you were about to call to borrow money just now, I saw the word 'wife' in your address list. And you hesitated for a while when looking at the number."
"If you didn't leave the house because of divorce, you wouldn't be so poor that you can't even afford to rent a house. Only people who have just divorced will have such hesitation."
Austin sighed after listening to her analysis. "Okay, you won."
"She did propose a divorce to me before, but I didn't agree. So we're still a legal couple."
"I will never have an affair in marriage, so you can rest assured when you live with me. I won't touch you."
Ashley smiled faintly, "I doubt it. You may change your idea when living with me."
Austin said casually, "Believe it or not. I don't want to waste my time on this."
"By the way, what do you do?"
As soon as Austin asked about her job, Ashley immediately became vigilant. Her voice became colder. "You'd better not inquire about my affairs, lest you will be killed."
Austin looked at her with a smile. "Be killed? Do you think you are a killer?"
The word "killer" was like a trigger, detonating Ashley in an instant.
The cold aura all over her body suddenly rose, and she stared at Austin like a god of death. "Let me tell you again. Don't inquire about my identity. Otherwise, you will be dead meat."
At this moment, Austin raised his alertness to the maximum. If Ashley dared to make a move, he would kill her on the spot.
Although he had been hidden for many years, he was still good at martial arts. He was assured that the girl in front of him would be defeated by him.
When he felt that she didn't have a motive for murder, he instantly became relaxed.
"Be kind. If you kill me, who will cook for you?"
Ashley snorted. "If it weren't for the fact that you can cook, you would be dead now."
Austin smiled awkwardly, "Right. Thank you for not killing me."
"What groceries do you need? We can go shopping and buy them all."
Seeing that Austin showed the white feather, Ashley no longer argued with him and went straight into a supermarket.
An hour later, they went home with many bags. Not far from the doorway of their house, they bumped into acquaintances at the door of a company.
"Keith? Sharon? Why are they here?"
"Please pull over. I'll see what's going on."
