Chapter 8

Killian was consumed by a seething anger as he rushed toward Rhea's bedroom. Once he entered the cramped space and seeing her perched on the bed, swiftly took hold of her slender arm and pulling her to her feet. He was indifferent to the way his grip caused her to bite her lip in pain. "Alpha Killian?" He felt an overwhelming urge to break her apart right now. She gazed up at him, her wide hazel eyes blinking with trepidation, tears streaming down her cheeks. But Killian learned that tears wouldn't deceive him. She has dare to withhold the truth from him. The Alpha's eyes fell to her stomach. 'How foolish of me to think that I was the one who got this pathetic Omega pregnant.' "I have found the father of your baby. So there's no use lying to me again. If you attempt to deceive me, I will kill you and your baby." Rhea blinked, her eyes momentarily wide with surprise. Alpha Killian stormed into her room, seething with anger, and said that. What reality does he want? The father of her baby is him! "I...don't get it-akh!-" Elijah who still in Rhea's room, rose immediately. He was about to free Rhea from him. But Killiam twisted her hand firmly, causing her body to instinctively lean towards him. "Noah. So, that human is the father of your child?" Rhea let out a sharp hiss of pain. Her heart raced intensely. "N-no, Alpha. My friend Noah would never did such a thing to me." Elijah glanced at each of them in succession. His Alpha had certainly made an effort to collect some proof. Among the peoples he had gathered, none suspected the human named Noah. Killian other hand moved from her shoulder to her chin, gripping it firmly. "You and him are more than just friends. He must have cum within you. I have all the proof. Will you still lie now?" She began to cry. Killian was filled with rage. 'Getting her to speak the truth is quite a challenge.' "Is crying all you can do?!" Her shoulders trembled "P...please don't hurt him, Alpha. I beg you." Killian distanced himself from her. "Even the one you is most concerned about is that human's well-being. He won't last long if you didn't say the truth me, Omega. I will ensure you saw his corpse before i kill you." Rhea's breathing grew heavy. He was merely a friend, not someone she felt particularly close to. Last month, Noah opened up about his feelings for her, but Rhea cannot return his feeling. She was convinced she wasn't worthy of his love. 'What could possibly make him to go through all of this for me?' "Ultimately it all rests on your shoulders, pup. You haven't shared the complete truth with me." Even though the human boy was the father of her baby, Killian couldn't shake off a sense of unease. Could it have been she lied to him? Rhea dismissed her thought with a shake of her head. "Let Noah go, or just kill me but please don't hurt him..." she breathed out. "He didn't do anything to me." The Alpha's laughter resonated deeply, sending a shiver down her spine. Killian pulled her hand, compelling her to meet his gaze. "You still won't say it, huh?" "Noah did not do it. He would never do it to me," Rhea said, gazing into the cobalt irises. She felt an unusual shift within herself. Something within her stirred in an unusual way. Rhea tried to set those emotions aside. Killian shut his eyes for a moment, realizing she had lied once more. For some reason, he found it increasingly difficult to hold their gaze. He opened his eyes just as his hands reached for her neck, but his Beta intervened, pulling the Omega from his hold. His grip faltered, Elijah using his body to shield Rhea. It was only at that moment that Killian realize of another presence in the space. "Killi? I mean, Alpha? You nearly killed her." Elijah gave his shoulders a subtle shake. "Among all the men I dispatched, none could have anticipated a human named Noah." Killian scoffed and brushed the Beta's hand off his shoulder. Killian observed Rhea as she attempted to brush away the tears from her cheeks, her shoulders gently rising and falling. He strolled off her room. His departure prompt Elijah to follow him. He can't keep this up with the Beta present. Killian needed to have a private conversation with her. As he approached the expansive backyards of the manor, Elijah stepped in front of him. “Hold on, I told you. What on earth was that? What makes you so sure that this random human is the father of her baby?" Even though he felt annoyed, Killian came to a stop. He acknowledged it himself. "Why would he fabricate a story and risk his own life unless he was the one responsible for her pregnancy?!" Elijah simply shook his head. "He could be some family to her or maybe he love her. Anyone is capable doing anything for love." "Absurd." The Alpha's voice was sharp and unyielding. Elijah laughed softly. In fact, he found the human's confession quite intriguing. He glanced around before speaking once more. “Oh, she nearly beaten by your other maid. Looks like that hostility is becoming a frequent occurrence among your workers." The Alpha finally acknowledged him. "I'm glad I made it on time." Killian rolled his eyes at the self-satisfied tone. "Who did it?" “A couple of other Omega girls. The maids of your Luna, as far as I know. Your treatment of her will only increase her fear of you. She is very weak. Be careful not to cause her any pain." "Did you just defended her," Killian mumbled, more a question than a statement. "Do you like her?" Elijah hesitated briefly before responding, "Does it really matter to you if I did? She has no mate and is absolutely pretty. She will instinctively seek out someone who can offer her protection. I am the ideal choice." The Alpha let out a low growl. His wolf displayed a heightened aggression whenever she was mentiones. Killian felt an intense urge to lunge and sink his claws into his Beta at this moment. He restrained his anger with all his might. "You shouldn't have feelings for low rank wolf, Elijah." Killian ensuring that Elijah grasped both the message and the warning distinctly. Then Killian walked away, the Beta remained rooted in his spot. He watched as the Alpha moved further into the distance. A subtle smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "I knew you have feeling for her, Killi."
