Dante I silently followed Isabel up the stairs, eager to know why she hadn't told me the truth about the nature of her relationship with her former mate. He'd almost gotten physical with her for goodness's sake! Surely she'd known she wasn't supposed to be alone with someone like that? I would have stayed back in a heartbeat if she'd asked, if she'd so much as whispered she was feeling unsafe. If I hadn't shown up when I had, I hated to think of what could have happened.
